Being born and raised in Hungary during communism confined to restricted borders. Yet, I am grateful that my family prioritized annual holidays. The memories of those vacations rival the excitement of our first time border crossings. Naturally, we travelled like many from the Eastern Bloc - cramming into the family car, with precooked meals prepared by my mother for the week, stored in coolers. It wasn't until I moved to the United States that I experienced travel the fullest. I learned to appreciate the cultural diversity, always seeking opportunities to engage with locals who can share insights into their county and introduce me to new culinary delights.
One statement you hear me saying often, is the belief that the significance of a vacation extends beyond the places visited to include the meaningful connections created with fellow travelers.
